Our services

The Sunday morning services are at 9.15 am and 11.00am and they are identical with children and youth activities at both. These are lively services designed for the whole family to enjoy. There is an ‘all age' talk before the young people leave for their own activities. We have a Holy Communion service on the first Sunday of the month.  The 6.30 pm evening service is more informal. There are occasional youth services.  We have a Holy Communion service on the third Sunday of the month.

We want going to church to be relevant and helpful to our daily lives - not embarrassing or boring. So the various people responsible for the services work hard to get the right mixture of music, bible reading, testimony, praying and teaching so that everyone is at ease and able to hear God speaking into their lives. We know we will never get it perfect because our tastes and personalities are so different. Having said that, we want our services to be ones to which you feel you can bring your non church-going friends and not feel embarrassed. Some of us might want a more emotional style of worship – some a more formal style, but we have decided deliberately to hold back for the good of those who might be put off.

On Charismatic things, we try to follow Paul's instructions in 1 Thessalonians  5, "Do not quench the spirit: Do not despise prophesy: test everything: hold fast to what is good and abstain from every form of evil". We want in other words to be discerning and open to the work of the Holy Spirit amongst us.

In connection with the worship in Church, we believe that a variety of really good music is vital. Jane Rynne - our music co-ordinator, works hard to make the quality better and better. If you can contribute to the worship on Sundays, or join one of the special choirs for Christmas and other festivals, please have a word with her.
