What we believe

1. We believe that the teaching ministry on Sundays and at other gatherings during the week is key.
God does his work in our lives as our souls are exposed to his Word – the Bible.

2. We believe that it is vital that all of us are growing in our prayer lives – and that we as a church are praying together.
Nothing worthwhile can happen unless God by His Holy Spirit works – and that is why we must pray. We long for people to discover the breadth and depth of praying – adoration , praise, thanksgiving, confession , praying for other Christians, praying continually, praying in the spirit. We encourage people to come to our prayer gatherings that happen weekly and monthly.

3.  We believe that teaching the Christian faith to children and young people is our particular calling as a church.
As families learn together about Jesus – so they will stimulate each other to become fully devoted followers of Christ.

4.  We believe that every adult can grow more mature and more assured in faith.
We encourage people to keep growing, and believe that ‘One loving spirit sets another on fire'.

5.  We believe that every Christian should seek to have an impact in society and in the world.

6. We believe there are some core beliefs that as Christian we need to hold firmly:

  • The Bible is God's word to us, so it has the right to tell us what to believe and do.
  • The God of the Bible is the only true God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We human beings were created good, but have turned away from God so that we are by nature spiritually dead in our sins.
  • We can receive full forgiveness from God  and come into a right relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.
  • The Holy Spirit give us new life and power to live as we were intended to before God.  God is involved in our lives.
  • Jesus will return again to judge all people and bring his people to a new heaven and earth.  There is a hell for those who refuse the forgiveness of God.
  • The church is God's primary way of accomplishing His purposes on earth today.
  • All people are loved by God and need Jesus as saviour.  God calls Christians to show compassion to those in need.
  • We have direct communication with God through prayer.  We are significant because we have become children of God.
